Episode 209 - Jayne Mansfield - Saturday, May 24 at 7am ET on BIO
The busty blonde bombshell that was Jayne Mansfield was only 34 when she died. Starring in films such as The Girl Can't Help It and Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?, with her breathy voice, sexy squeaks, and voluptuous looks, Jayne was one of the true sex symbols of the 20th Century. Mansfield tragically died in a car accident in 1967 on the way to a television appearance. She was killed instantly, but her three children asleep in the back all lived. Skeptic Gail Porter and sensitive Chris Fleming pick up the Mansfield story in Biloxi, the last place where she performed on the night before she died. Will a séance there bring contact from beyond the grave? A midnight trip to Dead Man's Curve, where Jayne lost her life, brings fascinating results; but it is the investigation into the voodoo history of New Orleans that truly terrifies our dynamic duo.

They didn't want me driving back in the middle of the night and I agreed, since I would have to drive through a snow storm. As a result, the production company would put me up in the only place to sleep in Lincoln...a bed and breakfast known as the Ellis Store and Inn. The cast and crew were also staying there, which made it easy for everyone.

Return to Lincoln

A little over a year since the Dead Famous - Billy the Kid episode was taped, I returned to Lincoln, NM. This time it was in the daylight and I was able to take my son with me, who was visiting from out of state.

We went into the Old Lincoln County Courthouse and I met with Dee Ann Kessler, the monument manager who was also in the episode. She told us to feel free to wander around. I took my son on a tour of the courthouse and showed him where we taped Dead Famous. It was interesting to see the place in the daylight instead of the limited area illuminated by a flashlight beam.
